Don’t let ‘I HAVE SETTLED’ become your Name. Especially, if you don’t like where you are.
I have always been told that I should ‘choose’ a path, like now and forever, like today and for the decades to come.
I have said ‘No’ to that way of living in the world, a hundred times. It has been analyzed, criticized, seen as weird, or even as childhish. Sometimes, I’ve also heard the notorious ‘you’re unable to ‘COMMIT’ to anything’.
There is a huge misunderstanding within the word ‘commitment’. In the end, what I wanted all that time, was to stay true to myself.
Sometimes, we forget to see that being committed in any kind of partnership with the outside must, and that’s what’s most important, also allow us to remain committed to ourselves.
When we get involved in a bonding with the world, a job, any kind of relationship, any kind of way of living, that goes against our own values,
When it doesn’t enable to plant the seeds that we do want for our future,
When it doesn’t allow to grow in the way that we aspire to,
That ‘commitment’ to the outside, is actually driving ourselves away from Who we are.
The immediate feeling of safety, of being taken care of, of ‘staying’, may not lead to any long-term feeling of inner fullfilment or empowerment,
If the road that it makes us take, isn’t ‘ours’.
— So, we’ll never believe that we need to say ‘No’ to ourselves, in the name of any kind of outside partnership.
Ladies & Gentlemen,
Never accept to erase your own selves, to delete your power and to throw away your values, in the name of any outside reward.
Never say ‘Yes’ at killing what gives you goosebumps, never bury your words, never stamp on your truth, to fit or to be accepted.
Never forget about what you like, never become someone else, for the sake of any kind of outside role.
Never accept to feel uncomfortable in your own skin, for too long, to please people, to be loved or to be kept.
Learn to love yourself first, to stand up for who you are.
See HOW TO INTERACT WITH THE WORLD, WITHOUT falling in the BETRAYAL of YOURSELF.
That’s how you’ll find the ones that are similar, that will value you for what you are, and not for a diminished and faked version of you.
So, I’ll keep on walking along the way, where I’m driven to, where the path seems to lead.
Most of the time, with messy and wavy hair, old sunglasses, and some kind of truly not trendy clothes. Thinking, ‘I don’t care, if all the beautiful people think that I’m not.’
